Get started

Set up LocalFlow
on Android.

Add voice typing to your existing keyboard. Enable the microphone, download a language model, and use the floating button to dictate in other apps.

Setup steps

  1. Allow microphone access

Open LocalFlow and allow microphone access when prompted. Recording starts when you tap the floating microphone button; audio is processed on your device.

  2. Download a model for your language

Choose Moonshine Tiny for English, SenseVoice Small for Mandarin, Cantonese, English, Japanese, or Korean, or Canary 180M Flash for English, German, Spanish, or French. Complete the download before dictating. Speech recognition then works offline.

    Compare models and supported languages

  3. Enable the floating microphone button

Allow “Display over other apps” in Android settings, then turn on LocalFlow’s floating button. Move it to a convenient position. It stays available while you use your existing keyboard in other apps.

  4. Choose how to insert your text

Use Copy to transfer a result manually, or enable LocalFlow’s optional Accessibility service to insert approved text into supported fields. Direct insertion is not supported by every editor; you can still copy the result.

  5. Dictate a message or note

Open the app where you want to enter text and tap the floating microphone. Speak, then use Confirm to finish the recording and transcribe it, or Cancel to discard it. Copy the resulting text or insert it into a supported field using the optional Accessibility service.

Text history stays on your device

Your latest 10 approved text notes are saved locally by default. Change the limit, turn future saving off, or delete existing notes in LocalFlow. Audio recordings are not kept as history.
